在主场1比1被垫底球队赫雷斯队逼平后，塞维利亚队单方面官方宣布与主教练希门内斯解约。
希门内斯2007年接替前任主帅胡安德-拉莫斯而出任塞维利亚主帅，他率队总共参加了134场比赛，胜74场平21场负40场，胜率55%。
不过进入2010年以来，塞维利亚陷入低谷，近13轮西甲联赛仅胜4场，最近5轮不胜，3平2负，联赛第四的位置已经被马洛卡队超越。此外，在冠军杯联赛八分之一决赛中，他带领的塞维利亚主场输给从而被公认实力最弱的中央陆军队所淘汰。
塞维利亚官方网站的消息说，周三球队将由助理教练奥里亚和奥雷利亚纳带队指挥，俱乐部董事会将在这两天召开联席会议，以尽快决定由谁来接替希门内斯。

Perotti has already recovered and is available for this weekendsmatch and he spent time today at a press conference to give hisopinions of this Sundays match against Atletico, the League situationand the Cup final. He seemed as positive as always, including hisrecovery time: "I do not like to be injured, it bores me. I can dealwith things, although the rhythm of training is not the same as a realmatch, I feel quite well and I hope that a month of inactivity will nottell."
The first opportunity, if the Manager thinks itcorrect, will be against Atletico Madrid, who will play Sevilla thisweekend in the Sanchez Pizjuan. When asked about the match and if thereis a possibility of Madrid coming with a losing mentality, Perotticould not fathom the idea: "I do not think a team as important or largeas they will come here to lose so that we can take the three points, itwould not be normal or ethical." What he did underline was that ,without doubt, they will have a different mentality now since they havenothing to play for: "We have played against many teams that havenothing to play for and they have complicated things for us. Knowingthat they have two finals and nothing to play for in the League willgive them a different mind set, but it does not even enter my head thatthey come here to lose."
Three crucial points, as are all thepoints that remain in Sevilla's quest for Europe, an easy thing for theArgentine: "We are two points from Mallorca, four games remain, theyare tricky matches, but many things can happen. We cannot gift anyoneanything, we have to take the three points because it reaching fourthplace does not depend on us. I would like it to, but it has been a verystrange season and two points is a very reachable distance, it is noteasy. We will hope for Mallorca to feel the pressure and that we willwin all our remaining matches."
The Cup final has finally setits date, the 19th May: "The only negative thing is that the Leaguefinishes on the 16th and I would like to return home to see my family,but it is not to be. Madrid won Liverpool and at least we have adefinite date, which leaves us a little more relaxed." However thisdate still does not assure the presence of the international players:"I hope that they are here, we have many internationals and they will be important absences, we will miss them. I hope that they can play andthat it will be a pretty final," concluded Perotti.

周末比赛：小猴子虽然在上场比赛小伤下场，但是经过一个星期的恢复后，出战周末没有问题
