　　体坛周报记者李森西班牙报道 关于3月3日马竞客场被马拉加0比0逼平，评论界有两种截然不同的看法。有人给球队扣上客场虫的帽子，马竞5胜3平5负的客场战绩，和主场的13场全胜差距太大，这导致球队很难和巴萨竞争冠军。也有人认为排名第二的马竞和第四的马拉加打平，恰恰证明联赛的“平衡”。除了赛季初独领风骚的巴萨，现在西甲哪个对手都不好对付。

　　国王杯伯纳乌决赛？  

　　从周一塞雷索满意的笑容来看，马竞主席的态度似乎倾向于第二种观点。“虽然我们没赢球，但从球队的整体形象，球员在场上的努力来看，马竞有能力任何一项竞争中取得好成绩。联赛我们依然处于第二，国王杯我们已进入决赛。”不用怀疑，塞雷索对前景充满了乐观。  

　　球队是否夺冠，还得一场一场来。但现在媒体最为关心的，就是赛季末合同到期的主帅西蒙尼何时与球队续约。上周西蒙尼的妹妹、也是其经纪人娜塔莉亚在马德里公开露面，续约已成公开的秘密。“下赛季谁将领导马竞？大家都知道谁是马竞最理想的主帅。至于何时宣布，请大家保持耐心，俱乐部正在解决国王杯决赛的场地问题。”塞雷索努力转移话题说。为了让更多的马竞球迷能在现场观看决赛，塞雷索将于周五和皇马主席弗洛伦蒂诺，商讨在伯纳乌举行国王杯决赛的可能性。  

　　“决赛只是图一时痛快，但和西蒙尼续约却能得到长治久安。”马竞派记者安东尼奥在披露西蒙尼近日将和马竞续约的消息时说，“这是马竞历史上，第一次给主帅一份长达4年的合同。过去一年半，西蒙尼完全征服了马竞球迷。我不知道他算不算名帅，但我肯定未来4年中马竞和皇马、巴萨之间会有不少战争。”

　　重球星，更重主帅  

　　为了引起外界注意，马竞曾把投资精力放在球星身上，以福兰、阿圭罗、法尔考为代表。而在教练方面，马竞则采取边打边考验的实用主义方针，2007年到2011年，马竞主帅竟4次易主，从阿吉雷、雷西诺、弗洛雷斯、曼萨诺到西蒙尼。而西蒙尼2011年接手球队时，尽管是俱乐部功勋球员，但马竞也只给了一份1年半的合同。  

　　.由于马竞还欠财政部不少旧债，也由于法尔考眼下在市场上灸手可热，迫使马竞在卖或不卖当红球星的取舍上一直犹豫不决。大股东小希尔去年11月公开表示，如果转卖法尔考能帮助马竞还清所有债务，那将是一次“可行的冒险”。在这样的背景下，西蒙尼大胆启用巴西中锋迭戈·科斯塔。即使年初法尔考因伤缺阵，马竞成绩也未大受影响。也就是说，西蒙尼已经做好了一旦本赛季末法尔考“不保”的第二手准备。在他的足球哲学中球队不能没有球星，但也不完全依靠球星。  

　　从重球星到重主帅，是马竞组队思路的一个重要改变。因为在2014年电视分红的旧合同尚未修改前，马竞实力很难和皇马、巴萨抗衡。因此把主要投资放在一个点，确定长期的教练组非常明智。本赛季联赛排名第二的马竞并没有得到太多宣传，西蒙尼没有得到该有的赞扬，一是因为人们对皇马、巴萨传统概念上的崇拜，二是由于西蒙尼的“保守”打法还不能让大多数人接受。西蒙尼将和马竞续约4年令人期待，当然这只是阿根廷教练征服舆论的第一步。

With huge letters the news was announced on the club’s official website.

That is how ecstatic the club and its fans are with the contract extension of Diego Simeone, who will continue as coach of Atlético Madrid until the summer of 2017.

The news, which we already reported some weeks ago, comes two days after Atlético’s goalless draw against Málaga, which just happens to be the same opponent and result of Cholo’s first game in charge of Atleti when he was appointed more than a year ago.

Since then, Simeone has won two finals with the Rojiblancos and led them to the upcoming cup final, while also breaking records in La Liga and guiding his team to the 2nd position in the league.

Now this match made in heaven will last four more years, which should finally give Atlético the stability the club have been in search of for years. As well as committing as a coach, Cholo will also gain more influence and responsibility in our transfer policy.

Atlético published a gallery of Cholo’s greatest moments during his short but succesful span as coach of the Colchoneros, which includes winning the Europa League and UEFA Super Cup. The coach’s previous deal was set to expire this summer.

Diego Costa and Filipe called up
There was more great news for the red-and-white part of Madrid on Tuesday, as Diego Costa received his first call up to the Brazilian national team, along with teammate Filipe Luís.

The duo will join the Seleçao for friendly games against Italy and Russia on the 21st and 25th of March. This time João Miranda was not selected by Luis Felipe Scolari.

Costa told the official club website:

“I don’t know what to say, I’m at a loss for words. It’s a dream I’ve had my entire life and now it’s becoming a reality.”

“I still can’t believe it, I’m incredibly happy,” said the in form striker who was even being linked to playing for the Spanish selección in recent weeks.

In a ceremony held at the VIP Lounge in the Calderon, Atletico president Enrique Cerezo, and sporting director Jose Luis Perez Caminero, accompanied the Atletico coach in presenting the agreement and thanked him for the work done by the technician in these 14 months, whose successes and excellent work led the club with him to realize a future project. No none missed this appointment, those present included Miguel Angel Gil Marin, CEO of the club, and the vice presidents Lázaro Albarracín and Antonio Alonso, general manager Clemente Villaverde, sports director of youth football, Carlos Aguilera, and Captain Gabi, who attended on behalf Atletico squad template. The player is living a good moment. Just been called back up Brazil in the week where the renewal of Simeone’s contract was announced. Filipe Luis welcomes the continuity of the project.

Luis Filipe appeared before the media after training on Thursday. And he did it after having received news of his latest Brazil call up, along with teammate Diego Costa. He talked about this and of course the renewal of coach Diego Pablo Simeone.

The red and white fullback said "continuity is important to us. We know that we are in a club with a good project, in a club that is again fighting for big titles. With clear ideas. The coach has conquered everyone with what he represents and what he has done since he arrived as coach. He has renewed but is still winning titles and having a great campaign, he never lets his guard down for a second. He knows how to live for football. For those who will come next year and for those who may be thinking about leaving, having the gaffer here is a very good thing for the project."

When asked what Filipe Luis has improved since joining Atletico, he was in no doubt, saying "now I'm complete. I have to defend well every game. If I defend badly once, I’ve done a bad job. I know what the coach wants, we know well and have a spectacular deal with all that's good for us. On a personal level I have improved, I defend better but we must continue. Everyoen has grown under Simeone."

Not wanting to make long-term goals. Filipe understands that "the goal is the game against Real Sociedad. We are all completely focused on this game. We are studying very well the opponent and playing good football and that is helping us have a great season. Winning against Real Sociedad will allow us to stay up the top."

Regarding the call up for Brazil, with the novelty of Diego Costa, he said "The call up makes me very happy. I know it's very difficult to stay in a group. With great humility I will try to stay there, always fighting and trying to take every opportunity. And, regarding Diego Costa, it was clear he had to play. Right now he could play in any team in the world. He is a player that gives a lot to the team both defensively and offensively. Thankfully he was not lost to Spain because Spain already a very strong and Diego Costa would have made them stronger. He his better with us and can help us."

Atlético Madrid coach Diego Simeone has renewed his contract with 'Los Colchoneros' for the next four seasons.

As AS revealed on 19 February, the club and the Argentine were hoping to agree a deal that would see 'El Cholo' remain at the club until 2017, and an agreement has now been reached.

Simeone, who played for 'Los Rojiblancos' in two periods, first 1994-97 when he won the historical doublé in 199, and later between 2003 and 2005, returned to the Vicente Calderón in December 2011, taking over from Gregorio Manzano as the club's coach.

The Argentine has already won two European titles in his short stay at the club, the 2012 Europa League and the European Super Cup.

In their second season under Simeone's guidance, Atleti have remained second in the Primera División table, winning every single game at home in the league so far, and have qualified for the 2013 Copa del Rey final.

El argentino Diego Pablo Simeone, que ha llegado a un acuerdo con el Atlético de Madrid para la renovación de su contrato hasta el año 2017, presenta un balance, desde que se hizo cargo del banquillo rojiblanco en diciembre de 2011, de 74 partidos oficiales, con 48 victorias, trece empates y otros tantas derrotas.

En aquellas fechas (diciembre de 2011), el Atlético recurrió a él para sustituir a Gregorio Manzano, destituido tras la eliminación de la Copa del Rey contra el Albacete, el día 21 de ese mes con una derrota por 0-1 en el Vicente Calderón, y con la misión de reanimar a un equipo en crisis: décimo y sin triunfos a domicilio tras 16 partidos de Liga.

Sólo había sumado 19 de los 48 puntos en los cuatro primeros meses de la competición. Unas cifras por debajo de las expectativas y que aceleraron la búsqueda de un nuevo impulso desde el banquillo: la llegada de Simeone, ídolo de la afición en su etapa como jugador y, ese momento, una solución de urgencia para reflotar al equipo.

Dirigió su primer entrenamiento el 29 de diciembre en el Vicente Calderón, aclamado por unos cinco mil aficionados, y se estrenó en partido oficial nueve días más tarde, el 7 de enero de 2012, con un empate sin goles en La Rosaleda, donde el equipo ya apuntó mejoría, sobre todo en el segundo tiempo.

La reacción del Atlético fue inmediata. En las 22 jornadas que quedaban de Liga escaló hasta la quinta posición (era décimo cuando asumió el cargo), a sólo dos puntos de entrar en Liga de Campeones (estaba a diez en el momento que se convirtió en técnico del Atlético), y fue intratable en la Liga Europa, rumbo al título.

Lazio, Besiktas, Hannover y Valencia, por ese orden, se cruzaron en el camino de un equipo inabordable en Europa. El Atlético ganó los ocho partidos y se plantó en la final en Bucarest, donde, el 5 de mayo de 2012, venció con rotundidad al Athletic (3-0), con dos goles del colombiano Radamel Falcao y uno del brasileño Diego Ribas.

Casi cuatro meses después, el conjunto dirigido por Simeone conquistó otro título europeo: la Supercopa. Fue el 31 de agosto contra el Chelsea de Fernando Torres en el estadio Luis II de Mónaco y con una exhibición ofensiva de Falcao y un planteamiento perfecto desde el banquillo del técnico argentino. El resultado fue de 1-4.

El Atlético de Simeone, que marcó un nuevo récord de victorias consecutivas en Europa, al final establecido en dieciséis, comenzó el curso con una fuerza incontestable. También en la Liga. Al empate de la primera jornada en Valencia con el Levante (1-1) le siguieron ocho triunfos seguidos y el ascenso a la segunda plaza de la tabla.

En esa posición continúa el conjunto rojiblanco en la actualidad. No se ha bajado de ese puesto desde el quinto capítulo de un curso en el que presenta, con 57 puntos, los mejores números del equipo desde el 'doblete' de 1995-96 y se acerca a la clasificación para la Liga de Campeones, la meta primordial para el club madrileño.

También brilla en la Copa del Rey, en la que disputará la final contra el Real Madrid, con sede y fecha aún por concretar, tras deshacerse, por este orden, de Jaén, Getafe, Betis y Sevilla, con cinco triunfos y tres empates, mientras que en la Liga Europa ya ha quedado eliminado: en dieciseisavos de final con el Rubin Kazan.

Diego Pablo Simeone ha firmado con el Atlético de Madrid hasta 2017. Dicen que es demasiado para los tiempos que corren, pero en realidad es demasiado para cualquier época, porque sólo un entrenador ha estado más de cinco temporadas sin interrupción en el Atlético en toda la historia del club. Fue Ricardo Zamora, que dirigió al equipo rojiblanco durante siete temporadas (de la 39-40 a la 45-46) cuando aún se llamaba Atlético Aviación. 'El Divino' ganó dos Ligas en ese tiempo.

Si Simeone cumple el contrato firmado, habrá entrenado al Atlético durante cinco temporadas y media de forma consecutiva. Salvo Zamora, nadie lo ha logrado en el cuadro del Manzanares. Ni siquiera Luis Aragonés, que dirigió al Atlético en varias épocas, hasta el punto de hacerlo, durante más o menos jornadas, en quince campañas. El máximo tiempo consecutivo que estuvo fueron cuatro temporadas completas, desde la 82/83 a la 85/86. Aragonés, eso sí, no resiste comparación alguna en número de partidos: más de 600 oficiales como entrenador del Atleti. Por detrás quedan Helenio Herrera (tres temporadas y media) y Radomir Antic (tres campañas completas).

Otro reto más para Simeone, que ha conseguido devolver esplendor al Atlético. El argentino cree en un proyecto a largo plazo, en un Atlético que siga creciendo "escalón a escalón", como él mismo dijo en rueda de prensa. Ha hecho historia con algunos récords (23 partidos sin perder) y con títulos (Europa League y Supercopa de Europa). Simeone no se conforma, quiere seguir entrando en la historia del club. Empezando por algo que no sucede desde los años 40: entrenar al Atlético más de cinco temporadas seguidas.

Éxito tras éxito. Así ha sido el discurrir de Simeone desde que se sentara en el banquillo del Atlético hace ahora algo más de un año. Llegó en diciembre de 2012 y, desde entonces, ha pulverizado muchos de los récords en la historia del equipo rojiblanco.

Aunque compartido con Gregorio Manzano, que fue el que empezó la racha victoriosa, de la mano del Cholo el Atlético se ha convertido en el equipo de la historia que más victorias consecutivas ha conseguido en Europa. Fueron 16 -tres con el jienense como técnico y 13 con el argentino- hasta que el Académica de Coimbra doblegó a los rojiblancos en la fase de grupos de la Europa League.

Lo que es territorio exclusivo del Cholo es el mejor arranque europeo de un entrenador. Nadie había logrado ganar sus primeros 13 encuentros continentales, algo que Simeone ha conseguido al frente del Atlético. Atrás queda el registro de Capello, que ostentaba el anterior récord con 10 triunfos seguidos.

Pero hay muchos más registros para guardarlos en los libros de historia. Simeone convirtió al Atlético en un equipo prácticamente invencible. Así fue durante los 23 partidos seguidos en los que los rojiblancos no conocieron la derrota en ninguna de las competiciones en las que participaban. Se acabó cuando perdieron 2-0 en Mestalla ante el Valencia el 3 de noviembre del año pasado.

Un encuentro más, es decir, 24 estuvo el Atlético marcando. Ni una vez faltó a la cita con el gol desde el último derbi de la temporada pasada hasta el susodicho partido de Mestalla, en el que se acabaron dos registros históricos de una vez.

En este periodo en el que estuvieron viendo puerta y sin perder, además, los rojiblancos encadenaron 13 victorias consecutivas, ocho de ellas en Liga. El Cholo también ha igualado el mejor arranque liguero de la historia del Atlético, al empatar los números del Doblete en las primeras nueve jornadas, y la mejor racha de victorias, tres seguidas, a domicilio.
