Van Nistelrooy fit for action
Heinze and the Dutchman train with the group
Real Madrid held their second to last workout on Thursday prior to flying to Seville for Saturday's match against Betis. Both Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Heinze returned to group training, while Sergio Ramos and Miguel Torres, who were also on the turf, focused on recovery work.
Real Madrid's sick bay is slowly emptying out. Van Nistelrooy is no longer dealing with a severly bruised right ankle and today worked out with his teammates in preparation for the forthcoming league match against Betis. Gabriel Heinze also appears to have made a full recovery and was seen training with the squad and working with a football. All signs point to his possible call-up for Saturday's game. After staying indoors for two straight days, Sergio Ramos set foot on the turf to jog with fitness trainer Santi Lozano. Miguel Torres also jogged as required by recovery protocol. Pepe -torn right soleus muscle- and Saviola -sprained knee and ankle- remained inside the Valdebebas facility to continue nursing their respective injuries. Metzelder, meanwhile, stayed home to rest after undergoing surgery yesterday to treat his left plantar fasciitis. The German is expected to begin rehab work in the next few days.
While those healthy enough worked on toning and ball exercises, Codina and Dudek were rejoined by Iker Casillas, who had sat out the last two training sessions with a niggled left hand.
Real Madrid will hold one last preparation session on Friday morning before traveling to Seville later in the day. NEXT TRAINING SESSION
Friday 15 February @ 11:00 at Valdebebas
