CONSCIOUS”
THE

HIS DEBUT IN THE FIRST DIVISION EARLY THE
CURRENT
YEAR AND WAS CHAMPION OF

AND OF THE WORLD WITH THE U-20 NATIONAL TEAM.

LIFE CHANGED SUDDENLY THOUGH HE IS AS HUMBLE
AND
STRAIGHTFORWARD AS USUAL.
The

Most of them are students of a school who have
attended

in the Premier, something unexpected. Luckily, Russo gave
me the opportunity and I took advantage of it.
Any special message of the coach at that time?
To play quietly and he let me know that he believed in my
skill. He supported me all the time.
You had to replace Fernando Gago with the board of
“successor” in the midfield. Was it an extra pressure?
No, I knew that to be in the first team had a reason and it

them both
personally and professionally. Banega is not an
exception.
In truth, when I was told to train in Ezeiza, it
was like a dream
coming true and a great joy not only for me but
also for my family.
Do you remember when you were first appointed?
I was in the Yellow House, after a game of the
Reserve against
Vélez. I was happy and on Tuesday I started to
train.
How did you tell your family?
I remember that they were very happy. It was
very nice. It was
my long-awaited dream. Firstly, to be in a club
and then in
the National Team. But it all happened
gradually. Luckily, the
dream came true and I was able to take
advantage of it.
What was it like when you knew that you were in the
squad for the World Championship?
I was calm because I had to do my best at the
finals of
the Libertadores with Boca first. Then, it was
the time for
the National Team which was something equally
important.
Luckily, I was successful and I played and was
a champion.
It was really wonderful.
Are you conscious of the success with the National
Team
or not yet?
It takes time to be aware but it was a
remarkable victory. We
made up a very close group, did our best and
fulfilled our
objective.
What is the contribution of the National Team to
your
career and mainly the people who work with the
Youth
National Teams led by Hugo Tocalli?
Tocalli gave me a chance to take part in the
South American
and it was important because then on my return,
Russo
called me for Boca. It was a key moment.
What was the secret of the Youth National Team?
Because
you did not spend much time together...
We worked together for a week and flew to
Teamwork was the best since it was made up
gradually and
it improved all along the games because we had
not had a
good start.

The chance to share a tournament with youth from
some
other countries with different cultures has been an
enriching experience...
I think that my life is giving a great jump, in
my career
because I have lived it in half a year and it
doesn’t happen so
often. Sometimes I can’t believe it, I ‘m not
conscious.
Do you dream with the Senior National Team
or is it too soon?
I think that it is too soon; I’m young and I’ve
to
get more experience.
A month ago, Banega took the subway and
a bus to go from home to the practice. But
his football success came hand in hand with
the recognition of the people because he is
popular and then, he changed his means of
transport: he bought a car to arrive calmly at
the practice.
How do you feel now that you are popular?
As time goes by, people stop me in the street
and it makes me happy. Sometimes, it may seem
annoying but we know that some people feel
touched to meet
a player. I have lived that experience too.
Who did you stop to get an autograph or a photo?
I did not do it much but when I was in the
lower divisions and
watched the practice, I went mad.

Ever is a player with a great technique who handles
the ball
very well and he is very intelligent in spite of
his age and short
career. It is surprising to see him playing in the
first of Boca
without feeling any pressure. He adapted himself
very well
and also to the National Team. No doubt, if he
continues his
performance in Boca, many teams will intend to hire
him.
Also, he has all the qualities to become an idol in
Boca,
something difficult for every player. Anything to
correct? I
think that we all have to improve every day and I

El Valencia pagará u$s 26.000.000 por el volante. La venta, que se cerró ayer, lo agarró desprevenido a Ever, quien hoy mismo viajará a España. Eso sí, irá muy bien empilchado...
De regreso a casa, camino a Buenos Aires, Ever le contaba su sensación a Olé. Volvía de Rosario, de estar con su familia, con sus hermanos, con su novia, disfrutando de las vacaciones después de un año agitadísimo, el año de su vida. Volvía en auto a Villa Urquiza, para irse. Para irse hoy al Valencia. Como se contaba ayer en la edición de Olé, en España decían que la compra estaba muy avanzada. Y también confirmaban desde el entorno del jugador que su futuro estaba en el ex equipo de Aimar, el Piojo López, el Burrito Ortega... De Boca, pocos detalles querían dar sobre la negociación. Hasta que ayer se convocó de urgencia a una reunión de CD para darle el ok a la venta del pichón de 19 años y recién ahí se hizo todo oficial, ya por la noche. Eso era mientras Banega regresaba por la Ruta 9 -le habían dicho que cortara sus vacaciones-, cayendo de a poco por esta transferencia ¡a menos de un año de su debut en Primera! ¿
or qué se va taaaan rápido? Por la plata: 20.000.000 de dólares limpios para Boca: cobrará seis en mano y los otros 14 en tres cuotas. En total, al Valencia le cuesta cerca de 26.000.000 el pase del volante, incluyendo impuestos y comisiones. Y a eso hay que agregarle lo que pondrán los españoles por el contrato de cinco años: en el primero, el volante se lleva 1.000.000 de euros, y es el primer escalón...
Por este pase millonario Boca cobra más de lo que pagará en total por el regreso de Riquelme, por el pase y el contrato del 10 por dos años y medio: para eso llegará a los 15.000.000 de dólares, contando con una financiación interesante del Villarreal. Se podría decir que se va un volante crack de 19 años hecho en las Inferiores del club (llegó en el 2005 de Sport Alianza) y que con esa plata volvió el enganche de todos, de 29 años. Y sobra dinero...
Banega sigue los pasos de su ídolo Gago, aunque no se va con dos sino con un solo año en Primera (debutó el 10 de febrero, de la mano de Miguel Russo, contra Banfield). Y no es al Real Madrid sino al Valencia. Tan en secreto intentaron mantener las tratativas en Boca que recién ayer a la mañana convocaron a la CD. El mismo Ever se enteró cerca de las nueve de la noche por Olé que estaba todo aprobado en el club. Y decía que "la verdad es que mi idea era quedarme en Boca, jugar la Libertadores, estar mucho más tiempo acá. Pero qué sé yo, apareció un negocio muy bueno para el club, algo muy importante para el futuro de mi familia y tenía que aceptarlo. No lo sufre tanto, él piensa como volante central a Battaglia, de más experiencia, y a Ever lo quería como volante por la derecha. Pero ya no lo tiene porque anoche llegó a su casa de Villa Urquiza y hoy se toma el avión a España para la presentación oficial en el equipo del holandés Ronald Koeman.
