Gabi: "There are some big gamescoming in the fight for the top places"
"We are focused on the clash against Sevilla"
Gabi Fernández was the special guest at the launch of 'Adventures in Jurassic', a family show that will premiere on Saturday December 1. The event took place at the Teatro Calderón in Madrid, the venue which will host performances until 13 January. The Atletico Madrid captain invited parents to bring the little ones to this adventure that "enriches and makes you grow in learning and the values conveyed through the world of theatre," said Gabi.
The Atletico midfielder refused to talk about the derby on December 1 against Real Madrid and put the emphasis on the next game against Sevilla (Sunday 25, at 19:00 at the Vicente Calderon): "In the dressing room no one has spoken of the match against Real Madrid. On Sunday we have a very important. We face the match against Sevilla thrilled," said the Atletico midfielder.
Sevilla's Jose Antonio Reyes returns to Calderón and Gabi is aware what this means: "We know that Reyes has an extra motivation to reach a good level at the Calderón. He played very well in the match against Betis ".

Atletico Madrid started preparing the match against Sevilla behind closed doors

Atletico Madrid are thinking about Sevilla. No time to dwel on Thursday nights triumph as the games continue to come think and fast in this case Sunday against Sevilla at the Vicente Calderon. Diego Pablo Simeone divided the group into two, as usual on Friday, there were no players of Atletico B.
Cata Diaz, Adrian, Mario Suarez, Silvio, Cristian Rodriguez, Cisma, Pulido, Raul Garcia and Emre, those who played the full game against Hapoel had a regenerative session with Carlos Menendez. The other 13 players (Gabi, Diego Costa, Luis Filipe, Asenjo, Godin, Courtois, Juanfran, Koke, Joel, Falcao, Miranda, Tiago and Arda Turan)worked with Oscar Ortegabehind closed doors.

Atlético de Madrid put out a real statement on Sunday evening, producing a fabulous performance as goals from Falcao, Spahic (og), Koke and Miranda secured a 4-0 win over Sevilla.
The visitors ended up having three players sent off in what was a memorable night at the Vicente Calderón.
After thumping Betis in the derby last weekend, Sevilla came into the game full of confidence but could do nothing to prevent a rampant Atlético, who had the win all but wrapped up before half-time.
The home side lined-up as expected, with Simeone bringing Koke and Diego Costa into the line-up following their impressive appearances from the bench at Granada last week. Tiago also came into midfield for the suspended Mario Suárez.
Proceedings started in a fairly even manner, but from the off it was Atleti who looked to take control. José Antonio Reyes, who didn’t get the best reception on his return to his previous club, had the game’s first effort but couldn’t trouble Courtois.
Referee Iglesias Villanueva made the decision that changed the game after 20 minutes, one that would perhaps have been a lot more controversial had the result not been so emphatic.
With the ball bouncing inside the area, both Falcao and Koke were hauled to the ground, leaving Villanueva with no choice but to point to spot,and also send off defender Federico Fazio for his troubles.
After a delay, Radamel Falcao composed himself and fired straight down the middle to put his team in front, and finally claimed his long awaited 50th goal as an Atlético player.
Míchel will have been hoping to get his team in at half-time just the one goal behind, but five minutes before half-time saw his defence capitulate as our forward players ran riot.
With gaps now appearing, it was Falcao again who instigated the second goal, charging forward on a counter attack before playing in Arda Turan to beat Palop via an Emir Spahić deflection.
Then, on 44 minutes, it was Diego Costa’s turn to make his mark on the game, capitalising on further sloppy defending to find Koke, who finished with a clever scissor kick to make it 3-0 and send the home fans into raptures.
There was no way back for 10-man Sevilla, and although Simeone’s team were able to take their foot off the gas in the second half, the game pattern was more of the same.
Costa nearly added his name to the scoresheet after the break, but his deflected effort came back off the bar. He was withdrawn just past the hour mark to great applause, suggesting he could be a starter in the derby next week.
Before the end, the visitors saw two more players sent off, substitute Antonio Luna was dismissed for protesting a decision, and midfield man Ivan Rakitić was also given his marching orders for a second yellow card.
There was time for one more Atleti goal though, and after Filipe’s long range effort was repelled by Palop in injury time, Arda Turan was on hand to square the ball for Miranda to tap home from close range and put the gloss on an excellent performance.
In truth, the scoreline did not flatter the Colchoneros, and although the first red card did change the course of the game, they were still more than good value for the win.
Sevilla could only manage one effort at goal across the entire 90 minutes, being brought back down to earth with a bang after their derby demolition of Betis.
Atlético on the other hand will go into next week’s Madrid derby with plenty of belief and momentum, as well as a full squad to pick from as none of our players in danger of suspension (Gabi, Filipe, Miranda) were cautioned today.
However, before then we host Real Jaén in the cup on Wednesday evening, with just the formalities to deal with after a comfortable 3-0 first leg win.

The Atletico player was one of the stars in the match against Sevilla
Tiago Mendes along with Gabi and Koke made up Atletico's midfield in the clash against Sevilla and the tireless work by the whole team was a key to the victory for the red and whites. "We wanted to get the three points. We have started very strongly, after they got reduced to 10 we controlled the whole game," summarised the midfielder.
The midfielder was pleased with the effort and the performance put in by him and his companions. "We put in a lot of intensity. We have had a dream first half. Sevilla have great players and we have won the game inside the first 45 minutes" he added. The Portuguese spoke ofthe support of the fans. "They've been awesome, always with us from the beginning." he said.
In the next game, Atletico will try to qualify for the next round of the cup "We’re thinking about the Jaén match, we still have to finish the tie, and then arrive for the Madrid game, which is one more game, 3 points, and we will go with the same enthusiasm as always" he said.
Atletico's second in the table after having scored 34 points from a 39 possible continue the strategy that never looks beyond the next 90 minutes. "We think about the next game. Diego Pablo Simeone, Atletico Madrid coach, praised the victory against Sevilla and highlighted the work of his team especially at the beginning: "We had a strong first half, accurate, precise, intense and aggressive, knowing we needed to win and the players came out that way. Sevilla didn’t have a shot on goal in the first half."
The Argentine coach praised the work of all squad. "At first the team played better with more aggressiveness, intensity and decisive in front of goal, then with two men more we had a quieter game. I am very happy for what the players are doing. It's huge. I hope they have the strength to continue competing," he said.
Despite the victory, the Argentine coach will not lose focus to the next match against the Jaén in the cup: "We will approach the week in the same way. We can not underestimate the Cup match on Wednesday. After that game we’ll look at the derby. This game and these results do not guarantee anything. We will continue on the same line"
When asked about the sacrifice made by his players and the risks taken by those on a yellow card, he was clear: "We had talked before the game of the importance of these 3 points, they are the same 3 points as the ones available next weekend, if not more important because we played at home.”
