Hace poco menos de una semana, ambos levantaron las copas y brindaron un poco más que el resto. Lo hicieron por el excelente 2010 que les tocó vivir y por este 2011 que llega repleto de desafíos. Los protagonistas son Leonel Galeano y Michael Hoyos, quienes fueron campeones con Independiente -de la Copa Nissan Sudamericana- y Estudiantes de La Plata -el Torneo Apertura argentino-y buscan guiar a la Selección Argentina Sub-20 a un brillante Torneo Sudamericano. En una charla con Conmebol.com ambos dejaron sus impresiones y deseos de cara al importante certamen.
¿Cuál es el principal objetivo en este nuevo desafío que tienen en sus carreras, como es el Sudamericano?
Galeano: La idea principal es clasificarnos al Mundial de Colombia. Para eso venimos entrenando y lógicamente, que con el correr de los partidos uno se ilusiona y quiere ganar todo. Pero primero hay que clasificar al Hexagonal y ahí buscar el boleto al Mundial y si se puede a los Juegos Olímpicos.
Hoyos: Nosotros vamos con el objetivo de clasificarnos a Colombia 2011, después si logramos quedar entre los dos primeros bienvenido sea porque significa que hicimos las cosas muy bien. Argentina siempre quiere ser campeón y esta vez no va a ser la excepción porque tenemos un equipo de grandes jugadores.
¿Uruguay es el principal rival del grupo?
Hoyos: En todo campeonato que empieza el primer partido es clave para la motivación del grupo. Si perdés, las dudas te hacen perder la confianza, y si ganás, no hay quien te pare ya que quedas muy fortalecido de cara a lo que viene.
Galeano: Es el primero y eso lo transforma en el más importante. Pero ya vimos lo que le pasó a Argentina el Sudamericano pasado y nosotros debemos ir partido tras partido. Logicamente que Uruguay es un grande en la categoría pero en América todo es muy parejo y un error te puede hacer perder un partido. Lo vivimos en el Hexagonal que jugamos en Córdoba (NdeR: lo disputaron Argentina, Ecuador, Bolivia, Perú, Chile y México entre el 15 y el 23 de diciembre) ya que todos los partidos fueron parejos y los equipos mostraron muchas cosas para tener en cuenta.
¿Qué compañero te sorprendió por su rendimiento en las prácticas?
Galeano: Los conozco a la gran mayoría por haber compartido procesos anteriores, pero de todos los que están acá el que más me sorprendió fue González Pires. La verdad que me gusta mucho como juega Leandro por su orden, su timing para ir a cerrar a los costados y su buen juego aéreo.
Hoyos: Nos conocemos todos desde hace más de un año, que es el tiempo con este proceso del Sub-20, y siempre uno saca cosas de los compañeros. La habilidad de Araujo, el despliegue de Cirigliano y el olfato de Funes Mori.
El marcador central de Independiente fue clave para la obtención de la Copa Nissan Sudamericana que obtuvo el equipo de Avellaneda y eso lo hace una pieza clave en el andamiaje del conjunto dirigido por Walter Perazzo. "Puede ser que algunos tengamos más rodaje en Primera, como mi caso, pero la verdad que a la hora de salir a la cancha uno no se fija en eso. Por ejemplo, el capitán del equipo, va a ser mi compañero se zaga (Pezzella) y tiene un partido en Primera", sentenció Galeano.
Distinto, y particular, es el caso de Michael Hoyos. Es que el volante de Estudiantes nació en Fountain Valley, California (Estados Unidos) y hace cuatro años vino a Argentina y nunca más se fue: "Nací en California y me crié allá hasta los 15 años, con mis papás y mis abuelos, todos argentinos. Mis papás se casaron y se fueron a vivir para allá. Consiguieron trabajo, mi papá es camionero. Años después, por cuestiones personales, vinimos acá, hice una prueba en Estudiantes y quedé". Y agrega para no dejar dudas: "Hoy me siento más argentino que nunca. Por Estudiantes y por lo de la Selección, me siento cada día más argentino"
¿Cual es el sello que veremos del equipo argentino en Perú?
Galeano: Nosotros tratamos de ser siempre ordenados porque tenemos jugadores que pueden desequilibrar en cualquier momento. Por eso creo que en defensa tenemos que brindar seguridad porque en ataque tenemos mucho gol ya sea con Araujo, el Melli (Funes Mori) o Ferreyra.
Hoyos: La verdad es que nosotros tenemos la tranquilidad de saber que nos hacen muy pocos goles. Ya sea por el arquero o por nuestros defensores, estamos seguros de que haciendo un gol vamos a ganar. Y para eso hay que ser pacientes y saber buscar el lugar y el momento adecuado para atacar. Eso es en lo que más hincapié hizo Walter (Perazzo) y estoy seguro de que lo vamos a conseguir.
Ninguno de los dos quiere ni siquiera rozar la eliminación de la última edición del Juventud de América en Venezuela 2009. Porque eso ya quedó en el pasado, y porque ellos quieren empezar a escribir su nombre en la historia de este histórico torneo. Squad for South American Youth Championship announced
A lot of experienced players on the list with perhaps Rogelio Gabriel FUNES MORI as the one with the highest profile for playing for River Plate and being so close to signing with Benfica this week (his transfer collapsed at the last minute because there were too many parties involved and wanting a piece of the pie).
It was River Plate, precisely, the most represented club on this list with six players, but they didn't allow star-in-the-makings Erik LAMELA and his team-mates Manuel LANZINI and Roberto PEREYRA.
There is the curious case of Juan ITURBE, who was at the center of a controversy when he left Paraguayan club Cerro Porteño to sign for Quilmes in Argentina. His parents are both from Paraguay but he was born in Buenos Aires and has decided to play for Argentina. He was said to have attracted the interest of European clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, Roma and Tottenham Hotspur.
ITURBE is one of three U17 players that are going to be taking the huge step forward and compete among U20s. Racing Club's Bruno ZUCULINI and Lucas RODRIGUEZ of Argentinos Juniors are the other two, with ZUCULINI already on the radar for Genoa and Napoli in this winter transfer market.
Not a bad list in my opinion. As I said before and as it is always the case with Argentine players this age, there are a lot of experienced guys here. Because top players (and average players too) leave Argentina at a very early age to play in Europe or elsewhere, youngsters play a big part every week in the Argentine league. That is why, in ZUCULINI's case, he even started a few matches for Racing Club in the last Apertura tournament in a position that is not the most suitable for very young players: center midfield.
That should give Argentina an edge over most of the other countries because the Argentine league is much more competitive than the rest of the continent's, the exception made of Brazil. Their situation is almost identical to ours and they will have the biggest name in the competition in NEYMAR, who already played for the senior team under new manager Mano MENEZES.
Players like Leonel GALEANO (Independiente), Sergio ARAUJO (Boca Juniors), the guys from River Plate and ZUCULINI himself, are all used to the pressure of playing in front of big crowds and with a lot at stake.
Walter PERAZZO, the manager, is a former striker that I have seen play for San Lorenzo in the 80s (yes, I was around. I admit it!). As a manager, he has been working since 1997 where he teamed-up with Leonardo MADELON to coach Second Division outfit, El Porvenir.
He then moved to San Lorenzo to work for the reserves when former River Plate and Real Madrid manager, Manuel PELLEGRINI, was in charge of the first team.
He coached up and coming stars at San Lorenzo such as Pablo ZABALETA and Gonzalo RODRIGUEZ.
He then joined MADELON again to work at Olimpo and together they brough the Bahia Blanca team up to the First Division. It was after that that he joined the AFA to work with the youth teams.
"I played 4-3-3 in a tournament in Bolivia and the friendly tournament in Cordoba. Sometimes I used Mauro DIAZ as our playmaker and it looked like a 4-2-3-1. Those are the formations I like", said Walter PERAZZO in an interview with Clarin newspaper.
"This is not something that has been going on since the day before yesterday. These kids have all been with me as U18s, they went to work with Sergio BATISTA and now they are back together with me. I've known them for a long time now", added the manager, who was born in Bogotá, Colombia, but has been almost all of his life in Argentina.
He also referred to the situation with River Plate and the players they are not willing to release.
"I understand River. They have a lot of players in every youth national team. I think the players we will be missing could have added something else to the team, but I think we've got a great group of guys here anyway".
"This South American Youth Championship will be very tough. In fact, for the senior national team, the World Cup Qualifiers were tough. Things are more even in the continent nowadays. Every national team have a place where they train since the players were U15. In previous years only Argentina and Brazil did that. We would be making a huge mistake if we say we will be champions. We can't get into the madness of putting a lot of pressure on these kids".

乌拉圭20人大名单将在北京明天早上公布，以下是我对赛事的分析和对乌拉圭的担忧。（各位见笑了）
说心里话，我都没有勇气关注这届南美青年锦标赛，不是对乌拉圭不自信，目前的现实状况和竞技水平真的太不乐观了，别说和巴西，阿根廷，巴拉圭，哥伦比亚相抗衡了，南美各队除了这四队有点优势，剩下的各队实力没有太大的差距，没有什么优势可言。小组赛需要依靠临场发挥和运气，这届乌拉圭的进攻得分能力很不足，进攻办法不多。从目前南美各国最新的集训情况看，乌拉圭的攻击力只能排倒数第二，在最近数据上只比厄瓜多尔略好一点，智利，玻利维亚攻击力都不比乌拉圭差，智利最近有上升趋势，厄瓜多尔和前期集训相比有些下降。
按目前实力和状况对比：
第一集团是 哥伦比亚 巴拉圭这两队状况比较好，球队阵容比较稳。巴西备战没有怎么打比赛，没太显山露水，看上去状况也不是很好，阿根廷队从热身赛来看并不能确定真正的实力，毕竟两队实力在那里，两强也应当放到第一集团。
第二集团 是东道主秘鲁，委内瑞拉（该队的实力也不能小视），
第三集团 玻利维亚（在本土进行的四国赛，排除裁判频繁给主队点球的因素外），智利（最近进步很大），
第四集团 乌拉圭，厄瓜多尔。
原先我定位，乌拉圭应该在第二集团和第三集团之间，但是其他各队目前的状况都有很大的提高，乌拉圭最近半个月的集训，进攻还是很乏力。不能进攻得分，防守再好，也不能取胜获得积分，再者90分钟未必能守住。所以我只能把乌拉圭定在第三实力集团。其实，我这里第三和第四集团的实力没有什么很大的差距，主要是和前面两个集团有差距。
我个人分析：除了巴西，阿根廷两强进入前四，获得世青赛名额热门球队以外，哥伦比亚和巴拉圭是最有可能进入前四的另外两队，虽然哥伦比亚可以直接出线，但是我觉得巴拉圭和哥伦比亚甚至都有夺冠的实力。一旦哥伦比亚为了争夺伦敦奥运会名额，打进前四，乌拉圭就有机会剩下的其他几队争夺第五名，争取获得世青赛资格。
我觉得小组赛就是一道鬼门关，乌拉圭面对东道主秘鲁和阿根廷，能打平都要烧高香了。即便是对阵另外两个小组赛对手，乌拉圭也未必就能取胜拿分。小组赛能够出线很关键，因为6强赛里面很可能有5队能够进入世青赛。
哎，偏偏第一轮就碰阿根廷，要是最后一轮碰阿根廷，说不定还能“救”我们一把。 秘鲁SUB20的主教练是乌拉圭人费林，他正是前乌拉圭SUB20主教练，率领乌拉圭SUB20参加过07年的加拿大世青赛。 巴西队的大名单
