<span twffan="done" style="FONT-SIZE: 10px; FONT-FAMILY: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">29 Mar 2007</span><br/><br/><span class="art-text" twffan="done">The media in Argentina are reporting that Diego Maradona was taken to hospital on Wednesday. <p>It is not immediately clear why Maradona, who led Argentina to the 1986 FIFA World Cup™ title, was taken to a downtown Buenos Aires hospital.</p><p>Maradona, 46, has battled cocaine addiction and in recent weeks appeared overweight.</p><p>The reports by the TodoNoticias television network and America TV came days after his personal physician said Maradona had put on weight and was planning a trip to Switzerland to get himself back into shape.</p><p>In 2000, Maradona was hospitalized with a severe heart problem while holidaying in Uruguay and tested positive for cocaine before undergoing drug rehabilitation in Cuba.</p><p>Four years later, he spent&nbsp;ten days in intensive care with heart and breathing problems and reentered rehabilitation.</p><p>He underwent a stomach-stapling operation in 2005, shedding around 30&nbsp;kilos &nbsp;and said he was fully recovered. 不要有事啊 神啊，请一定要比乌鸦活的久！！！ 希望早日恢复啊~真让人担心 <p class="big">Diego Maradona's doctor has issued an upbeat bulletin on the Argentinian's condition, but expects him to remain in hospital for another fortnight. </p><p>The former World Cup winner was admitted to hospital last week after falling ill on the eve of a trip to Europe. </p><p>Maradona's doctor Alfredo Cahe claims the 46-year-old is making good progress, but is expecting him to remain in medical care for another two weeks. </p><p>"We've found out test results we were not expecting," Cahe told Radio Mitre. "I estimate he will be there (in hospital) for no less than 15 days. </p><p>"Just yesterday night (Sunday) I saw a real clinical improvement in him and in the tests." </p><p>Cahe also took time to aim a swipe at a section of Maradona's entourage. </p><p>"I'm not talking about his family, they are wonderful people who really love him," he added.
