"Micho reminds me of Franz Beckenbauer." With these words, Jos?Maria Aguilar, President of Buenos Aires giants River Plate, has said all that needs to be said about Martin 'Micho' Demichelis. The player is rated for his aerial strength, powerful tackling, excellent positional sense and tactical intelligence, but above all for an easy and fluid command of the game, the main reason for the admiring comparison with the Kaiser.

At home in Argentina, Demichelis' nickname is Mariscal (Marshall), after Roberto Perfumo, the best and most elegant Argentine defender of the Sixties and Seventies.
